A Closer Look At the Main Characters of Smallville

A Closer Look At the Main Characters of Smallville

Clark Kent (Tom Welling –A young man searching a way to deal both the pangs of growing up and having superpowers. Very loyal to his family and friends at some point on the show he would have preferred living a normal life than being Clark Kent with powers, with this a reluctance to take on larger responsibilities almost always steps in most especially in times when he knows it will take him away from the one he loves. After the death of his father Jonathan Kent, Clark is forced to discover and use his gift of powers on his own without the guidance of a father figure. Adding insult to injury with his love for Lana Lang he realizes he cannot have the normal relationship he desires.

Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) – Having lost both parents to the meteor shower, Lana started high school as anyone would have wanted, a girl standing out on the cheerleading squad having a popular boyfriend of the football team. But Lana realizes that she wasn’t set in living other people’s dream, she went out and tried to find her place under the sun. She started out as being the co-owner of a popular coffee shop the Talon after opting to study art in France she becomes involved with Jason Teague. Friction starts as she gets in the middle of Jason’s family’s quest for the search of a Kryptonian artefact resulting in her being possessed by an evil witch.

Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) – Showing a cool demeanour on the outside but having a twisted dark persona on the inside, Lex Luthor grew up becoming a distraught businessman executive at his father’s vast corporation. His estranged relationship with his father Lionel Luthor only fuelled his true calling on sowing a wicked agenda. Watch Smallville Season 9 Episode 8

As usual the episode starts with oodles of Tenderness and Intrigue. Clark and Lois appear to be on vacation waking up from what can only be imagined as a tremendous night of passion. I’m sure the ladies enjoyed seeing Clark without his shirt. Immediately following we are informed that there is someone going around town posing as “The Blur” but not quite up to “Blur” par. The clumsy doppelganger is not only leaving the Shield as their calling card but also manages to “catch” a unit of undercover Police officers amidst a sting-gone-bad resulting in the City DA Shady Sachs gunning for The Blur’s head on a stick. I was able to watch Smallville for free online.

We get a comic relief/sexual speedball when we are shown a first-hand glimpse of Lois’ Psychiatric appointment. She is told ironically to stop focusing on “The Blur” and start focusing on Clark although he is referred to as the one that is right in front of her. The Wonder Twins are reveled. Appearing to mean well The Wonder Twins continue to botch saves and cause destruction all over town. Clark soon tracks them down “Batman” style, disables them and takes them back to his Bat cave…err Lair. Chloe makes the Twins feel bad for making the city hate the “Blur” and they promise a favor in return for their freedom and forgiveness.

Lois is finally contacted by “The Blur.” Hopeful that Lois will understand and realize that it couldn’t have possibly been “The Blur” causing all the destruction he explains that there was a doppelganger that meant well but he had a handle on the situation and it would never happen again. Towards the end of the conversation the Twins are fiddling with the computers in the Watchtower and inadvertently expose Clark to Lois as “The Blur.” A town meeting is called by Shady Sachs in order to flush out the Blur. Lois after a short trip to her psychiatrist realizes that she needs to stick up for “The Blark” and preach his anonymity for the better good of Metropolis. The City seems to listen and enjoy watching Smallville online.

Lois is tricked into a closed door meeting with Shady Sachs where she threatens him with a crippling expose on his many criminal activities. He fires right back with attempted murder and a couple of hired goons come rushing out to throw her over the side of the building. Lois’ gymnast instincts kick in when and she is able to grab onto a convenient flagpole for dear life. Clark is faced with the choice of exposing himself to the paparazzo as The Blur or letting the love of his life plummet to her death. Of course Lois selfless as always requests death for the sake saving the City. Lois confesses her love to Clark and admits she knows that he is in fact The Blur and that a part of her has always known. Just when you think all hope is lost The Wonder Twins swoop in and save Lois and the day. Not only do they save Lois but they give Shady Sachs a toothy Pit Bull surprise before he gets hauled off to the slammer.

I had hoped that the cat was out of the bag but Lois received a phone call at the end of the show from “The Blur” just as she was having a conversation with Clark, once again preserving his delicate alter ego. Clark develops an appreciation for The Wonder Twins but orders them to never use their power again. Lois returns to the therapist to realize that she loves Clark more than “The Blur” and decides to focus her energy on him. Clark gets angry with Chloe for invading his personal space and tapping his phone conversations with Lois but appreciates the identity save.

Lois and Clark end things with some foreplay in the copy room. When things start heating up Lois looses consciousness and Clark sees visions of a horrible future. Season 9 episode 8 has got to be my favorite yet.

Watch Smallville Season 9

If you are anything like me you have a hard time catching your favorite television shows during the scheduled air time. The DVR service in my area is insanely expensive right now as well and I am being told that it will not drop off anywhere in the near future. In order to watch my favorite show "Smallville" I must rely on web sites such as this one that offer free episode viewing twenty four hours a day seven days a week. Here are links to all of season 9.
